If you can make it down to Tacoma, here’s a one-of-a-kind health and wellness event focusing exclusively on Black womxn! There’s plenty of organizations in the house (GirlTrek, Black Girls Run, and more)
1 Day Black Womxn’s health fair focusing on keeping Black Womxn Healthy: Mind, Body and Spirit. This is an event for Black Womxn and those who love and care for them. Everyone is welcome to attend. Primary disease prevention is the emphasis.
-We will be advocating for black womxn’s agency to self-heal (know what we need to stay healthy).
-Considering art as a powerful path towards avoiding disease and restoration of wellness
-Investigate mind-body practices like mindfulness, clean-eating, meditation, yoga and massage therapy.
-Lastly, discuss traditional medicine topics as a complement to holistic healing
You will leave this event with:
A sense of community
Knowing some easily accessible options for self-care
This event is geared for Womxn which is a term that broadens our definition for inclusion of transgender, queer, and those that identify as female/femme
