The Black Feminist Library is thrilled to have for sale a limited number of Black Herstory 2018 Calendar of Radical Black Womxn! They are hand illustrated prints by England-based artist, Jacob V. Royce.
This 2018 calendar highlights 12 radical womxn who fought courageously and creatively against the hegemonies, oppressors and colonisers of their respective eras and countries. This art work features 12 brand new illustrations of revolutionary or radical figures from African or Caribbean descent to guide you into the future and into the past this 2018. The Calendar includes a series of quotes which illuminate a perspective held by the illustrated figure and all portraits are hand painted prints by Jacob V Joyce.
Illustrations include radical Black feminists such as: Audre Lorde, Nanny of the Maroons, Nehanda Nyaksikana, Olive Morris, Big Mamma Thornton & Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Mary Seacole, Yaa Asantewaa, Olokun and others.
